Week 69: I'm Pregnant!!!
大家好!
We got transfer news on Saturday and I found out that I'm staying in Sheung Shui and training a brand new missionary!! I'm super excited to train and have already started thinking about what kind of trainer I want to be and how I want to help my trainee. Super pumped!!
Highlights
- I had a lot of exchanges this week which was super fun! My first exchange was with Elder Chin and we had a blast. In the morning we were at the chapel to meet with a friend who ended up not coming, but while we were there this random dude came up to the chapel and said hi, so we chatted for a bit and come to find out his sister is a member of our church in Canada. So we invited him to church and he said he would maybe come. (On Sunday he pulled up to church and we scheduled him for this week!!) Then we headed out to the middle of nowhere in our area to do some finding, but after a while we weren't really feeling it, so we walked back cause the bus was full. And then we met two dudes whose phone numbers we got, one came to church and the other is scheduled for this week. Super cool 1 Nephi 4:6 moment, just step by step being led by the Spirit to find prepared people
- The next day I was on exchanges with Elder Halgren which was so fun. We went out into another boonies part of the area and then had to book it to get back to the chapel area to eat dinner before an English activity, so we took a shortcut through the jungle and discovered a ghost town and accidentally got covered in old fiberglass, which was a blast haha
- We got to go to the temple again on Friday which was so fun cause I got to run into my cousin Sister Heiner!! She just got to Hong Kong last week and I was hoping to get to run into her soon and got to see her at the temple which was so fire!!!
Spiritual Thought
This week we met a guy who is originally from Mainland China but now lives in Hong Kong. Because he's from Mainland he has almost no background with Christianity. While we were texting him and sharing about Jesus Christ, he asked us "But I mean... It's just a story right?" This week I also read Elder Uchtdorf's talk from last conference, where he talks about the empty tomb, and how the empty tomb itself demands attention and stands as a witness that Christ is more than just a story, or historical figure. To truly know that Christ is more than just a story we need to have experiences with Christ. We need to come to know Him personally and walk with Him, and as we do so we can find Him living and active in our lives. The Savior told Thomas "blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." We are those who have not seen, and yet have believed, and we are blessed for it
Love you all!!
