Week 26: 兩個洗禮
大家好!
This week was so amazing, we had zone conference and I had my first two baptisms on the mission in the same day yesterday!! Such a spiritual week and experience. Both Charles and Jack had asked me to Baptize them, and it was honestly one of the best moments ever. The entire morning I felt so happy and elated and afterwards I was so excited for them. Genuinely one of the best feelings, having so much joy for the choice they made to bring the most joy in their own lives. So excited to continue doing this work and finding more prepared people!
Highlights:
- Yesterday our mission had 12 baptisms in one day, which is insane because for the first couple months of the year they were having around 4 per month. We are now only 33 baptisms away from our mission's baptismal goal of 185 people! We've had so many miracles happen recently, and it's been awesome to see.
- Zone conference was amazing, we had Elder Buckner from the Asia mission area presidency come and speak, and he had the most fire messages. I took so much away from that zone conference, and it got me so fired up for doing more missionary work.
- We had an Elder who's in training come over to our apartment for exchanges, so we cleared out our living room to make just enough space to lay all the mattresses out on the floor, and then we all yapped for like an hour and a half, and then I had the best sleep I've gotten on the mission. Twas lit.
- I also got to see Elder Chuy again at zone conference, which was so lit, I miss him a ton, so it was super fun to catch up and talk for a bit.
- Yesterday, after church, I headed all the way down to the Wan Chai chapel to have a rehearsal for a musical number that some missionaries are putting together for our mission Christmas party, and the Sister who's leading it is one I used to serve with here in Sheung Shui. She's super musically talented but also a little unorganized. She picked a new Hymn that only has a melody, so she made up her own harmony for the Elders to sing. Cool. But she also had no sheet music or anything, so she just tried to have us memorize all of our notes and rhythms and everything, so we had no idea what was going on the whole time haha. We'll get it down though.
Spiritual thought:
During my personal study this week, I ran into the phrase "my joy is full." This was spoken by Jesus Christ when He visited the Nephites after His resurrection, and He said it because of the Nephite's faith and willingness to come unto Him. I love the idea of the fulness of joy, because it means complete joy, the joy is full, at its maximum capacity. What brings Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father the most joy? Seeing us turn to Him. When just one person comes unto Jesus Christ, their joy is full.
Love you all!
