Week 43: Healing in His Wings
祂已復活!
Happy Easter everyone! This week our Mission President gave us 30 minutes at the end of every day to do the Easter study course on Gospel Library as an apartment. It was such a great opportunity to deepen my understanding and appreciation for the Atonement and Resurrection leading up to Easter. The title of this email is one of my favorite descriptions of the Savior's resurrection, which comes from 2 Nephi 25:13: "He shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings."
Highlights
- We met another crazy dude this week, yayyyy. This dude was from Mainland China and barely spoke English but Elder Coons insisted on trying to teach him a message about the Restoration via Google Translate. So I was just kinda standing there because we were late for an appointment. Eventually Elder Coons waves me over and is like "Do you understand what he's trying to say?" I look at the Google Translate and it says that some people opened a door to another dimension and everyone in that dimension is dying and he can hear their voices all the time. Sooooo we gave him a Book of Mormon, told him to read it and pray for help, and sent him on his way
- Elder Coons and I grinded whiteboard finding this week, which is where you write down a question on a whiteboard and have people write their answers and then talk to them. We had some pretty good success come out of it and it was super fun!
- My Messenger was tweaking out this week and taking forever to send and load messages and it was lowkey stressing me out, but I got it fixed fortunately, so we're good to go! (Thank you Elder Zhao for the IT support, you're the GOAT)
- We had two friends come to church for Easter!!!! Such an amazing miracle, I haven't had that many people to church since I got to this area. It felt so good to help people come and have a spiritual experience at church for Easter.
Spiritual thought
One of my good friends recently mentioned that he was memorizing "The Living Christ," which reminded me that it exists, so I studied it on the bus ride to church for Easter. It is an incredible declaration, and I 100% recommend you study it today. This is one of my favorite parts:
"We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son."
I can't really add much more onto how powerful that is, but I want to echo that last line, which reminds us to be eternally thankful for the incredible gift that is the Savior and His sacrifice for us.
Love you all!
