Week 30: Basically a heist movie
大家好!
God sometimes has the craziest timing and plans. For example, on Thursday I ended up on exchanges with my trainer, Elder Chuy because he ended up as my ZL this transfer. It was actually insane that it worked out that way, but it was seriously the best part of the week. We jumped right back in where we left off and had some fire conversations about missionary work and motivation, and also caught up on a bunch of stuff. Such a blast.
Highlights:
- I went on back to back exchanges so I wasn't in my area for two days which is kinda crazy. It was awesome though cause I got some really good advice and inspiration to take back to my area
- This week I really learned to be thankful and look for the blessings I have. We had a pretty rough week in terms of missionary work and weren't able to get near any of our goals we'd set. But Elder Yip and I were able to keep our spirits up by looking for the positives and remembering what miracles and blessings we'd had
- We snuck into the #1 university in Hong Kong, Hong Kong University, to go finding. It's super fun cause if the security guards catch you trying to hand stuff out or talking to too many people they kick you out so you have to be super sneaky. Used my training from all the time's I've seen Ocean's 11
- On exchanges with my DL, Elder Esplin, we went to this tiny beach town that he'd felt prompted to go to during weekly planning. We took a 45min bus ride there and when we got there it was so tiny, we thought surely there wasn't gonna be anyone to find there. And then we found a family of 5 that was interested in coming to church who lived in Elder Esplin's area. It was such a cool miracle and such a cool testemant to what can happen when you follow the Spirit
Spiritual Thought
When Elder Chuy and I were on exchanges we talked a lot about how to maintain spiritual momentum. We read President Nelson's talk "The Power of Spiritual Momentum," and then discussed. The conclusion that we came to is that our motivation to follow the Savior comes from regular spiritual experiences. When we have spiritual experiences regularly, it gives us something to fall back on. As we stay diligent in reading our scriptures, praying often, having meaningful sacrament experiences every week, and attending the temple regularly, we can build and maintain spiritual momentum that will carry us through all our hardships and trials of faith
Love you all!!
