Week 19: King Kong will buy us McDonalds
你哋好!
This week was sooo long but also super good! We did in fact meet a man named King Kong who will be buying us lunch at McDonald's later this week. Kinda lit.
Highlights:
- We set a goal to have 9 lessons with members this week and we hit 11, which is one of the reasons this week felt so long. But we also were able to teach our progressing friends so much which was awesome!!
- Our friend Ball Lu invited us to play badminton with him and all his old people friends, so we pulled up and old man Raymond taught me how to play badminton
- Got a contact from a guy we thought had interest, turned out he did have interest but in us not the gospel cause he was gay and wanted to ask one of us out. That's a new one
- We ran into this kid Him-Him that we'd met before, he's this random 12 year old kid who really likes talking to us. Blud told us that he told his tutor that he had to use the bathroom and then left and had been riding around on his bike for 30 minutes cause he didn't want to go back to tutoring. So we told him he should probably head back, and he was like "yeah I guess." Stay in school kids
- A member's kid got baptized yesterday!! It was such a cool experience cause it was right after church, so the chapel was so packed during Sacrament, and then afterwards there were so many people who came to support. We were able to invite our friend Charles to stay for the baptism and after for lunch, and he had an awesome experience! We're hoping to invite him to be baptized sometime this week, so please pray for Charles!!
Spiritual thought:
Yesterday during my personal study I watched a President Eyering conference talk called "All will be well because of temple covenants." His message was so powerful, and I'll invite you to read it cause I can't say more here than he said there. But I loved his message about how we can have so much comfort, peace, and hope when we live inside our temple covenants. If we live our temple covenants then we don't have to worry about what happens in our lives because we can trust that the Lord will take care of everything.
Love you all!
