Week 17: Typhoon Blessings

 你哋好!

This week has been crazy, but so good! We had so many lessons, met a ton of cool new people, and put a friend on baptismal date!!!! It was such a fire week.

Highlights:
- Okay so back to the title of the email, during the typhoon when we were stuck inside for like two days, all we could do was call people who used to be taught by missionaries but were to busy at that time. So we called a ton of people, but pretty much all of them dropped off, except for one. We met with Hugo twice last week, and he's actually so golden! He's an 18 year old university student who competes in martial arts tournaments. During our lessons he had a ton of interest and in between lessons he was super responsive to our texts! On Saturday we asked him if, hypothetically, he ends up believing the church is true, would he get baptized? And he said yes, so now all we have to do is help him gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the church. Light work.
- On Tuesday I went in to get my Hong Kong ID, and while I was there I ended up sitting next to this dude who I'd passed on the way in and said hi to. He recognized me from earlier and we started a conversation. Turns out he was from mainland and was also getting his Hong Kong ID that day cause he's going to University here now. He asked for my phone number after a bit, which is crazy cause that's the third time someone from Mainland has asked for my number first. I swear if Mainland was open for missionary work there would be so many baptisms. Oh well.
- We put our friend Jack on baptismal date yesterday before church!!! He had expressed before that he wanted to get baptized, so we had a lesson where we made sure he understood what that meant and what baptism entails, then invited him, and he accepted! So he'll be getting baptized the first Sunday in December, so everyone pray for Jack to continue learning and having the desire to get baptized!
- The Social Media Sisters in our Zone asked me and Elder Chuy to make a video to get people to read the keep note they have with all the info for making ads cause no one ever reads it, so all the Elders in my apartment came together and it ended up being fire, it's attached in my Google Photos if you're interested in checking it out!
- We had to take a taxi to get to the stake center on time so that Elder Chuy could do a baptismal interview. Never take taxis bro, we got so cooked 😂 Literally felt like Will Smith in that one scene in Pursuit of Happyness

Spiritual Thought:
Alright so I know I just talked about temples a couple weeks ago, but I'm gonna do it again. Our mission president recently invited us to take time to study covenants during our personal study time on Sundays, so yesterday I decided to look through President Nelson's talks and write down every promise that he talks about relating to temple worship or temple covenants. It was actually crazy, I already filled up a page and a half in my study journal and I'm not even done yet! There are so many amazing promises for regularly going to the temple, President Nelson repeated over and over that there is nothing else that will bring us as much joy, peace, comfort, answers, and power than being in the temple regularly. I want to invite you all to take time to read these President Nelson talks and look for all the blessings he promised for going to the temple regularly.

Love you all!
