Week 16: We had some rain
你哋好!
This week we had a super typhoon come through, which was absolutely nuts, there was so much rain and wind it was actually crazy. I put some videos in my Google photos, so if you want to see how nuts it was you can check it out there. We were totally safe in the apartment though, the most exciting thing that happened was our window started leaking. We did have to stay in our apartments for like two days though, which was not lit.
HIghlights:
- During the typhoon we got an extra hour of personal study and an hour of Come Follow Me discussion time, but the discussion time just got used to discuss deep doc with the other Elders in our apartment. Lowkey fire
- We also got to play a ton of Catan for language study cause we just played the game in Cantonese. If anyone needs to know how to say brick, wheat, sheep, rock, or wood in Cantonese, I got you.
- Got to go to the temple Tuesday morning right before the typhoon, which was a great way to start off, I love when I get to go the temple!
- We had transfers happen! I was honestly really sad that it was changing though, I loved my Zone so much last transfer, every single missionary in the Zone was so fun and so fire, we all worked super hard but also had a really good time together. It's been hard adjusting to a new zone without a lot of those missionaries who I loved working with, but I think I'll get used to it too
Spiritual thought:
Finding out that we lost President Nelson yesterday was really rough. It really made me think about how grateful I am for all his service to the church and his leadership, he genuinely must have been one of the best people on the planet. His example of following Christ and serving others was incredible, and he had so many insights that were so profound. For the last week I had decided to read one President Nelson talk every morning, which I think must have been some kind of prompting. But I've realized how important it is to continue to study the prophet's words outside of General Conference. There are so many insights and promises in those talks, I would encourage all of you to read them. My favorite one recently has been "Overcome the World and Find Rest" I want to invite you all to read it!!
Love you all!
