Week 11: Andrew the GOAT
Hey everyone!
This week has actually been so crazy! I've gotten such crazy whiplash with a lot of really difficult finding days, but then finding some absoultley golden people!
Highlights:
- We've had like 6 total member meals this week, which is insane! The members here are so kind and so fun, I love getting to spend time with them. My favorite was when we went to the Ward we serve in Bishop's house, it was him and his family, his sister's family, us, the Sisters, and a recent convert Andrew who's 13. And we were all crammed into this tiny apartment having a super good time, they have this little kid named Kingston who's 6, and he knows a bit of English but all the English he hears is just super funny phrases and stuff he's heard online and from other people, so it was so funny, I was dying. He also started singing Despacito at one point which had me dying laughing
- On Saturday we went finding in the morning and found this guy named Jack, invited him to church, and he came on Sunday and brought his two kids! And now we're meeting with him again this week! Super awesome miracle
- We also went finding on Saturday night with Andrew, the recent convert 13 year old. He got baptized two and a half months ago give or take, and his testimony is so strong! When we were finding he would just walk up and talk to anyone, ask if they were interested in hearing a short message about Jesus Christ, and if not he'd just move on to the next person. He helped us find like three numbers and pass out a Book of Mormon all in like 45 minutes to an hour! Goated Andrew, this kid is actually the best.
- On Wednesday we had this trainer-trainee devotional thing where we all got to take a field trip up to where the realm of China was dedicated for missionary work. It was a really cool experience, and we talked about some of the blessings that were given during that dedication, and what that means for us. Then we got to go over to a viewpoint of the city and take some pictures and stuff, and then write our own personal mission dedication letters and write about what we want to accomplish while we're here. Super cool!
Spiritual thought:
Temples have come up a lot this week for me, so I thought I'd write about that. Andrew is going to the temple to do baptisms for the first time this week and we get to go with him, so this week we were helping him prepare. And that reminded me of how much of an influence the temple has been in my life, and how much I've been blessed because of it. I love that when we take the time out of our busy schedules to go to the temple, we are given so many blessings and so much heavenly help. I know that when we make time for the temple, it will help us do everything else we need to do, so I want to invite you all to attend the temple more so you can have those blessings too!
Love you all!
