Week 7: gagaak haih ngāam

 What's up everyone!

This week we had the hands down best class we've ever had, so normally we have two teachers, one in the morning and one in the evening, but our evening teacher left on a trip on Wednesday, so our morning teacher has been teaching both classes. Which is awesome for me cause that teacher is like literally my favorite person in the MTC, he's the best. So anyways, this class was about how to shop for things and bargain for stuff, so first we played gagaak haih ngāam, or the Price is Right, but played for Hong Kong items and how much they normally cost so we don't get ripped off for being white boys. It was seriously so much fun, and also shocking to see how cheap some stuff will be there. Then we did a market simulation thing where half the district was buying and the other half was selling random stuff you find around the room. It was super random and fun, and it got super chaotic and everyone was yelling at each other in Cantonese, it was AWESOME.

Other highlights:
- My district took a trip to the Provo City Center temple to do endowments on Tuesday which was awesome! I got to see my uncle who works there which was amazing, super good to see him and talk to him for a little bit, he's the best. Getting to go to the temple also just really set a great tone for the week, and I noticed that everything felt a lot brighter and was easier to do this week.
- Sister Christiansen, the wife of one of the MTC presidency, seems to have taken a liking to my district and invited us to come hang out in her office on Thursday and have cinnamon rolls, which was super fun! She's super nice and really fun to talk to.
- Little miracle: I was eating BBQ ribs and dropped it on accident, it hit my tie and bounced off, COMPLETELY MISSING MY WHITE SHIRT. It was crazy

Spiritual Thought:
I just wanted to share how much the temple can totally change your week! Getting to go this week just gave me so much peace and happiness, and it stayed with me through the whole week. President Nelson has promised that if we make the temple a regular part of our lives and go as often as we can, that we can have help and blessings from Heaven. I can promise that that is true, and encourage all of you to try and go to the temple as often as you can!!

Love you all,
Elder Blankenbiller
